Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland Park

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays; unfortunately Erik and I would have to spend it apart some years because he was away at school so this year we decided to do something special. My sisters invited us to go with them to Mickey’s Halloween Party and we automatically said yes! We have been Wonder Women and Spiderman for Halloween before but this year we didn’t want to take our costumes so we decided to just buy t-shirts to be more comfortable but still have Halloween spirit I also wore my Toms Paseos, which are so comfortable.

Disney truly makes everything magical. We did all of the activities that we could and rode every ride we wanted there were hardly any lines for the rides the most we had to wait was 15 minutes for Indiana Jones (our first ride we went on since it's our favorite) and that line flew by with conversation. Space Mountain was Ghost Galaxy and personally I liked it a bit more than the original. For Splash Mountain we went three times and the third time we didn’t even have to get down from the log boat.

They also had special trick-or-treat stations with candy and healthy goodies they would decorate the stations so beautifully and guests could know where they were because they had a ghost Mickey by the entrance. They also had characters walking around the park or inside the treat stations to have photo opportunities.

Halloween Screams, a boo-tiful fireworks spectacular was magnificent, The Haunted Mansion was Nightmare before Christmas theme and the wait to get in was not long at all. We also rode Pirates of the Caribbean, which fit perfectly with the treat station.

T

his scarecrow was so funny he kept talking to everyone, and there were so many more scarecrow people walking around causing mischief.

To end the day we rode the Disneyland Railroad and it was a perfect way to end a magical day.

Disney is always such a wonderful experience and I am so glad that I was able to go with my sisters and Erik because they made it an even more magical event.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

Erik and I went to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and it was fantastic the weather was wonderful and it was basically empty. I wore one of my Barcelona jerseys but this one is very special because it was a birthday gift from Erik he had it customized, it has my favorite number and my last name on the back. I also wore my Nike free shoes they are so comfortable, jeans and my San Diego hat because it was very sunny and it’s so important to protect ones skin. There weren’t that many people since kids have gone back to school and it was during the week.  So we were able to do everything and not have to wait in lines or be in large crowds.

When entering the park you are greeted by the flamingos, which are one of my favorite animals, they are just so pretty they were being fed so they were very active.

The views of the park are breathtaking and the Balloon Walk balloon is just so breathtaking in person. The first thing that we did was go on the Africa Tram in the African Outpost, the line can get pretty long but we didn’t even have to wait in line we walked straight to our seats. I love going on the tram because you get to go around the animal exhibits and learn about the animals and how they are helping to conserve the wild life and they also talk about ways that we can help to conserve wildlife.

All of the staff around the park are so friendly and are so helpful if you have any questions, the keepers were also always asking if we had any questions and would talk about their animals the cheetah keepers were outside talking about the cheetah and it was amazing to see it so close and how his best friend is a lovely dog. We were lucky to see when they were giving a snack to the lions and they picked up such a huge bone with such grace that you would think that it was as light as a feather. The Gorillas were also so active the two little ones kept running around and wrestling with each other.

The elephants were going to be fed so they were all out and walking towards their food they are such gorgeous animals.

Part of the fun of the zoo is being able to interact with the animals and the Lorikeet Landing in Nairobi Village is a great way to do that.

The cost is very low to be able to feed them nectar, and if you don’t want to do that you can simply just walk in and see them. They have added more Lorikeets so it’s impossible to not see one and they are usually some by the rail waiting for someone with nectar.

He is a Real Madrid fan, we got some fun comments at the park from our jerseys.

What we were looking forward to see was the new

Tiger Trail

right from the beginning it was great the entrance is so pretty surrounded by a bamboo pathway with a tiger statue at the end. The tigers are close so we could see them very clearly and the gift shop was very well stocked of Tiger Trail souvenirs. They have a great waterfall with benches underneath it so its nice and cool, I love going to the

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

and it was such a relaxing day I definitely recommend checking it out if your ever in the area.

College School Essentials

I had my first day back at school and it was a whirlwind, but I loved it. I didn’t want to make this post until after my first week so that I made sure that what I posted would be in actuality what I really used. I’m not posting my electronics because everyone might have different preferences (I used my iPad, MacBook Pro, and iPhone).

The most important thing is my backpack I bought this one because Herschel is a great brand with great products the quality is magnificent it has everything that I need this is the

Pop Quiz' Backpack

and I love it!

I had been using my Jansport backpack, which I also love but I’ve been using that one for a different purpose so I decided I needed a new backpack.

I have different colored pens because while I take notes I like to color categorize and it helps me memorize better and also a normal blue pen. Post-it notes, which are great for notes or reminders, also Post-it flags are a must to not lose your place in your notes to know where the most important parts are or for a quick bookmark. I always have my extra battery charger, which can be used for my phone or iPad but mostly for my phone. I don’t really use makeup for school but I always have my

NiveaLip Butter

. A small note book because when I don’t want to take my binder out (which I didn’t include in the picture but it is crucial to have one) I take my notebook and write quick ideas or a small to do list.

Now in my opinion of all the stationary the most important thing and something that I cant live without is my

Gallery Leather

planner I get one every year (I’ve used planners since fifth grade) and its for school and personal events or things I need to do. It is so important to stay organized; I am old school and would rather have a planner than use my phone calendar although sometimes I do use it.

Next is my

Brita bottle

 I also have a

Bobble

water bottle but I tend to use that more for working out. The Brita bottle is great because my school has water bottle refill stations and it is so important to keep hydrated, next is my

BuiltRambler Lunch Bag

. I use it for snacks and my lunch because it can get pretty costly to buy food everyday, this one is great because it fits a lot of food and snacks and once its empty it wont take a lot of space. Its also so easy to wash I also have a blue one if I have things that need an ice pack so I like to keep those separate.

Last but not least is a good

Hat

, I cant go anywhere without my hat its always in my handbag or car just in case I will need it and boy have I needed it since it has been so sunny and its important to protect ones skin. I hope everyone has a great school year!

Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve

The other day it was such a gorgeous day that Erik and I decided to go on a hike, I love hiking because I would rather hike than walk on a treadmill. We went to

the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve;

the sky was a gorgeous blue color without a cloud in sight. It was great to walk and explore new areas that we hadn’t been to before. We go hiking a lot but not very often to this area because it is a little bit farther for us, but every time we go we try to take a different trail and go as far as we can. All of the people that we would see on the trails were so friendly and that’s also one of my favorite things about hiking, that when you see someone they are always friendly and want to know how your hike has been so far. I highly suggest going on a hike even if it is a small one, and if there’s an ecological reserve nearby check it out I promise you won’t be disappointed.

What I Would Wear

I love summer time, so with these looks I wanted to put something a bit different than just a T-shirt and shorts. With these look one can find similar items because some pieces can be out of price range (but oh so pretty) and recreate them or find inspiration to try something new.

stud earrings

For the first look I chose espadrilles with a fun pattern, which I love at the moment, they simply scream summer. I didn

t want the handbag to be structured so I chose this raffia and leather tote bag (it is Balenciaga but a girl can dream). I left the accessories very simple a Vince Camuto horn hinge bracelet, Rebecca Taylor spine brass ring and the cutest Lee Renee pineapple stud earrings. The shorts are from J.Crew and they are the perfect shorts for summer I love the wash and how they aren

t too short. The blouse is from Kate Moss for Topshop its a scalloped satin chiffon camisole its light perfect for summer when you don

t want heavy fabrics. I already have an obsession with Topshop so adding Kate Moss into the mix it was a match made in heaven for me. To top it all off an Eos lip balm, which are the only lip balms that I ever truly finish.

ballet flats

The Second look is a bit less casual but when you want to go out it would be perfect for a warm summer night. The top is a Monki Hanne Singlet the color is gorgeous it really stands. The skort is what I really love it is a black crepe wrap skort from Newlook, I just can

t get enough of it. I chose ballet flats because I usually wear flats so I chose the perfect black ballet flats from Seed Heritage. The nail Polish color is spin the bottle from Essie Spring 2014 collection and I wanted it to be a light color to not contrast with the top. The accessories are silver because of the hardware of the amazing

Proenza Schouler PS11 classic leather shoulder bag

I just truly love this bag. The bracelet is from Calvin Klein; Michael Kors pave heart earrings, a Pandora ring sterling silver and enamel darling daisies and a Meghan Farrell single beat ring.

lightweight earrings

I have been obsessed with gladiator sandals so when I saw these I had to make a look for them they are Guess Alina flat gladiator sandals. I really like how they are a knee-high design and how they are so different than other knee-high gladiator sandals that I

ve seen. The dress is TFNC Janet jersey dress, jersey dresses are so comfortable and the color is sure to grab attention. And like I said I wanted the sandals to not be outshined so I left the accessories very simple a Michael Kors large Bedford zip clutch, Blue Nile ball earrings, Luv Aj petite band ring set in rose gold.

Aamaya by Priyanka Topaz & rose gold-plated arrow necklace and another piece that I just adore are the Shwood Original Line Belmont Sunglasses in Dark Walnut Grey Polarized.

tall skinny jeans

I just love this look the shirt is such a statement piece that right when I saw it I was head over heels for it. Its from Kenzo so that could also be a reason as to why I was drawn to it the jeans are ONLY Mila high skinny jeans. The handbag is another bag that I am just obsessed with and its the 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Medium Satchel in Buff I just cant get over how perfect this bag is. The shoes can also be a statement piece they are so gorgeous and they are the Sam Edelman Nahara Beaded Thong Sandal I don’t think I have ever seen a Sam Edelman shoe that I have not loved they are all just so pretty and well made. The accessories are lux muse stud earrings from Henri Bendel, Charles & Keith pursuing peace bangle, Tiffany infinity ring and a Hugau love ring. And of course I couldn’t forget the Eos lip balm.

What I Would Wear

The firs two looks are very casual and something that I would love to wear the Markus Lupfer sweater is crazy expensive so this would most likely the be the only way that I would be able to style it. I really like wearing neon colors and what better way to add color to winter than with a neon sweater.

The accessories are also perfect, I am obsessed with the black loafers and think I might just have to buy them. I am a huge fan of satchels because they are comfortable for everyday use and can still look great. For the second outfits I decided to use the same top but in two different way, since valentines is just around the corner if you will have celebrate valentines in the day your can wear the outfit on the left which is still very cute but less formal but if you will be going out at night you can wear the outfit on the right I decided to put flats and boots because its personal preference what you choose to wear. I kept the accessories quite simple. I hope you like my outfits.

OPI Gel Manicure

I am the kind of girl that if I have even the slightest chip on my nail polish I will immediately take my nail polish off of all my nails and re-do them. I had been hearing great things about gel polish about how long they lasted without chipping and that they had a great color selection.

So today as I was running errands I noticed that my nails were chipped so I decided to give the gel polish a try. I went to a salon where I had heard great reviews for a gel polish manicure and they were so friendly and I didn't have to wait in line although they were pretty busy. The process was just as long as a normal manicure (1 hour) the difference is that between each coat they put your hand under an LED light to cure the polish, they did mine for 45 seconds. So first they prep the nails then by numerical order 1. Base coat 2.LED light 3. Color polish 4. LED light 5. Second coat of Color polish 6. LED light 7. Top coat 8. LED light. I decided on the color Pompeii Purple which is not very purple it's more like pink with light glitter of purple and blue and I could not be happier. I will do an update to see how long they truly last without chipping.
